1. About us
The Decided is operated by Sparked Connection Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16967307, which is registered with the Association of British Introduction Agencies.
By submitting an application or purchasing a membership, you agree to these Terms.
2. Nature of the service
We are a human-led introductions service for adults in the UK who are settled on not having children. Every applicant is interviewed by a person, and introductions are made by a matchmaker.
3. Eligibility and acceptance
By applying you represent, on an ongoing basis, that:
- You are at least 18 years of age. Our membership is aimed at people between 28 and 50; applications outside that band are welcome but we may not have suitable people to introduce you to
- You do not have children of your own, including adult children and children who do not live with you
- You are settled on not having children, and this is not a question you are still working through
- You are not currently married, in a civil partnership, or in an ongoing romantic or intimate relationship
- Everything you tell us is true, accurate and complete, and you will tell us promptly if it changes
- You are not subject to any court order, restriction or circumstance that would make your participation unsafe for other members
All applications are reviewed. Submitting an application or making a payment does not guarantee acceptance. We may decline, suspend or discontinue a membership where we reasonably consider it appropriate, including where participation may present a safety, legal or reputational risk.
4. Definitions
"Introduction" means a proposed meeting where both people have been told about each other and have agreed to be introduced.
"Membership period" means the six or twelve months beginning on the date your paid membership starts.
"The Register" means the pool of interviewed and accepted people who are considered for introductions but for whom no active search is carried out.
5. Membership tiers and fees
| Tier | Fee | Term | Includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Register | £195 | 12 months | Application, interview, identity verification, and a place in the matched pool. Considered for introductions; no active search. |
| Membership | £1,500 | 12 months | Five curated introductions, a briefing call and a debrief, a professional photoshoot, plus active search beyond the membership. Two pauses. |
| “Bring a Friend” Membership | £1,300 each | 12 months | As Membership, including a photoshoot each, at a reduced rate where two childfree people apply together. Each is interviewed, assessed and matched separately. |
Fees are payable in advance and are quoted inclusive of any applicable tax. Applying is free.
Professional photoshoot
Both paid memberships include a professional photoshoot. The shoot is delivered by an independent photographer under that photographer's own booking terms, and any arrangement is between you and them directly. We are not responsible for the scheduling, quality or delivery of third-party photography, and the photoshoot carries no separate cash value and is not refundable once booked.
The “Bring a Friend” rate
Where two people who are each childfree apply together, both pay £1,300 rather than £1,500. The two applications are assessed independently and on their own merits.
6. Number of introductions
We will use reasonable endeavours to provide five curated introductions during the twelve-month membership period, subject to you remaining eligible, responsive and actively engaged.
Introductions are subject to:
- The reasonable availability of suitable people, within our membership or beyond it
- Mutual willingness on both sides to be introduced
- Your own participation, availability and responsiveness throughout the period
Introductions are not evenly spaced and may occur at any point during the period. Unused introductions do not entitle you to a refund.
The Register carries no minimum number of introductions.
7. No guaranteed outcomes
We do not guarantee that you will meet a partner, that any introduction will lead to a relationship, or that introductions will occur at a particular time or frequency. Introductions are made using professional judgement on the basis of the information available to us.
8. Your responsibilities
- Give accurate, truthful and current information, and tell us if it changes
- Engage respectfully with the people we introduce you to
- Remain reasonably responsive to our communications
- Tell us promptly, in writing, if you enter a relationship
Where you become unresponsive for more than 90 consecutive days without an agreed pause, we may pause your membership. Periods of non-engagement may not count toward your membership period.
9. Pausing your membership
You may ask us to pause your membership, for example if you meet someone independently, or for illness, bereavement, relocation or work. Requests must be in writing and are subject to our agreement.
Introductions stop during a pause and the paused time does not count toward your membership period. Both paid memberships allow two pauses of up to twelve months each.
10. Behaviour and conduct
We may suspend or end a membership immediately where someone provides false or misleading information, breaches an eligibility representation, behaves in a way that is unsafe, dishonest, disrespectful or abusive, or misuses an introduction. In those circumstances fees are not refunded.
If you arrange to meet someone through us, you do so at your own risk. Take the same sensible precautions you would when meeting anyone you do not know.
11. Fees and payment
Fees are payable in advance. Once the service has commenced, fees are non-refundable except where UK consumer law requires otherwise. Full detail is in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
12. Right to cancel
Because you buy at a distance, you have a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
13. Privacy and confidentiality
We handle personal data in accordance with our Privacy Notice. We never ask about medical matters, and we do not record medical information if it is volunteered.
14. Profile sharing
Where we propose an introduction we share a limited profile: first name or initial, general location, profession or lifestyle overview, high-level preferences and selected photographs. Contact details are shared only once both people agree to meet.
15. AI-assisted tools
We use secure AI-assisted tools for summarising responses and internal notes. No decision about acceptance, membership or an introduction is made solely by automated means.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for the actions or behaviour of any person introduced to you, dissatisfaction with introductions where the service has been delivered as described, indirect or consequential losses, or delays outside our reasonable control. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. Verification and checks
18. Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms on reasonable notice. The version in force when you purchase applies to that membership. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
